Brigadier General Gregory L. Ferguson is Chief of Staff, Oklahoma Air National Guard, Oklahoma Joint Force Headquarters. He is directly responsible to the Assistant Adjutant General and The Adjutant General for the combat readiness and operational effectiveness of all units of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
General Ferguson has been a member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard since March 1982. Since receiving his commission in 1984 at the Academy of Military Science in Knoxville, Tennessee, General Ferguson has served as Commander of the 185th Airlift Squadron and the 137th Operations Group; as Vice Commander and Commander of the 137th Airlift Wing and Commander of the 137th Air Refueling Wing. General Ferguson also served as Deputy Commander, 485th Expeditionary Operations Group, King Faisal Air Base, Tabuk, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 379th Expeditionary Operations Group, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar in 2003. General Ferguson oversaw the implementation of the 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission requirements for Will Rogers Air National Guard Base. Since May of 2005, he has provided joint coordination with Active Duty Air Force and the Air Force Reserve Command in the transition to the new mission and the relocation of the Operations and Maintenance Groups to Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. He oversaw the establishment of the first Air Reserve Component association in the United States Air Force serving as the last Commander of the 137th Airlift Wing and the first Commander of the 137th Air Refueling Wing.
