MSF Rider Safety Course
Home Resources Frequently Asked Questions Retirees/Dependants Registration

Motorcycling has become increasingly popular in the Army with 33,425 motorcycles currently registered on Army installations. One result is that motorcycle accident rates have increased proportionately. As the accident rate goes up, leaders must find ways to improve motorcycle safety within the Army. The Chief of Staff, Army, now requires the Six Point Program developed by the Combat Readiness Center be used by all Army units. Like any sport, motorcycling can be very dangerous. Although we cannot totally prevent motorcycle accidents, through proper training and preparation we can reduce them. Therefore, our actions can make riding motorcycles fun rather than fatal.

MSF Beginners Rider Course (BRC)
The BRC is designed for the beginning rider with no or limited riding experience / skills as well as experienced riders wishing to polish their basic motorcycle skills. Approximately 5 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of riding exercises in a controlled environment. Conducted over a two day session (normally a Saturday and Sunday), the BRC includes a written and riding skills evaluation.

MSF Experienced Rider Course (ERC)
The ERC is designed for the rider with at least 6 months and 500 miles of current motorcycling riding experience. It is a one day course consisting of 4 hours of range instruction, approx. 2 hours of classroom instruction, and a written and riding skills evaluation
